


Sameer Walvekar
Sameer Walvekar joined Urban Genesis in 2019 and serves as Senior Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets. Sameer is responsible for capital raising, marketing and investor relations. He also oversees the firm’s investments and developments in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Prior to Urban Genesis, Sameer worked for Stockbridge Capital Group in their investments team, covering the western United States. Sameer started his real estate career as an acquisitions analyst at Lionstone Investments.
Sameer received a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Gahl Shalev
Gahl joined Urban Genesis in 2015 and is responsible for overseeing all investment and development activities in Austin and the Southeast Region for the firm.
Prior to Urban Genesis, Gahl worked as an Associate at Lionstone Investments, in its Portfolio Management and Acquisitions groups. Gahl graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012, earning his bachelor’s degree in finance. Before completing his degree, he served as a First Lieutenant in the Israel Defense Forces.

Matt Shafiezadeh
Matt Shafiezadeh is the founder of Urban Genesis. Since its founding in 2013, Matt has grown Urban Genesis to $1.4 billion of AUM.
Prior to Urban Genesis, Matt was a senior investment officer at Lionstone Investments where he sourced over $2.0 billion of commercial real estate assets across the country. Matt also spent time at both Highland Capital Management and Lazard Freres & Co. on Distressed Investments and M&A/Restructuring. He graduated with a degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007.
He is an active member of Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee and Women Walking West. Matt enjoys traveling, cooking, and a rigorous health and wellness routine.

Hunain Dada
Hunain Dada is a Senior Managing Director at Urban Genesis, overseeing the industrial product vertical for the firm.
Hunain has a seasoned background in commercial real estate investing at both institutional and owner-operator levels. Before joining Urban Genesis, Hunain was the Director of Acquisitions at Belvoir Real Estate Group, focused on sourcing industrial acquisitions and scaling the investment arm of the vertically integrated emerging sponsor platform. Prior to this, Hunain spent ten years at the institutional real estate private equity firm, Lionstone Investments, overseeing accounts totaling $2.5 billion in assets under management on behalf of state pension funds and university endowments.
Hunain graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010 with a master’s in professional accounting and minor in finance. In his free time, Hunain enjoys traveling with his family, attending sporting events, and staying in tune with the capital markets.

Sanjay Chandra
Sanjay serves as a principal and managing partner at Trinity and its affiliated companies in a variety of roles and responsibilities on a full time and active basis. Sanjay brings to Trinity over 30 years of experience as a successful entrepreneur and an active private investor.
In addition to his day-to-day role at Trinity, Sanjay serves as a board member for American Leather, which he co-founded in 1990, and where he was formerly president and CFO. He is a board member for Robokind LLC, ELB Learning, Nuclein LLC, Falcon Structures LLC, Bentwood Kitchens Inc and other affiliate companies, as well as the Longhorn Council of the Boy Scouts of America, where he serves as Vice President of Development.
Sanjay is a Special Advisor to Urban Genesis, Capital Boutiq and AllTrades, and serves as Chairman on the Engineering Advisory Board for the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.
Graduating with highest honors in 1987 from the University of Texas at Austin, Sanjay received a bachelor’s of science in electrical and computer engineering.
